Obituary of David Southard David Leroy Southard, age 81, of Corning, passed away on Thursday October 18, 2018 at Steuben Centers. He was born on October 18, 1937 in Romulus, the son of Wayne and Etta (LaDieu) Southard. He married Lois Steves on October 26, 1962 in Corning.

She predeceased him on October 2, 2017. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother and he retired from Corning, Inc in 1992 following 39 years of service. He loved playing guitar and he was a car enthusiast with interests in antique cars especially Cadillacs.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Ron Divens of Hornby, grandchildren, Courtney Divens, Natalie Divens, Lindsay (Jay) Stearns, and Nathan Baird, great grandchildren, Riley Reed, Leo Stearns, and Gryffin Baird, brother and sister-in-law, John and Lucy Southard of Bath, and nephews, Kevin and Daniel Southard. David was predeceased by his son, Jody Southard, daughter, Bambi Baird, and sister, Celia. It was David’s wish that there be no visitation.

A private graveside service will be held at Montour Falls Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
