Obituary of Lloyd VanPelt Lloyd R. VanPelt, age 76 years, of Corning, NY passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at home surrounded by family. He was born in Long Eddie, NY on February 3, 1942 to Raymond VanPelt and Sadie Mae Offenritter of Wellsboro, PA. He was employed by Corning Glass Works for 35 years working in many positions throughout the company and also at World Kitchen for 5 years.

He will be remembered as a hard-working man, devoted to work. He received perfect attendance for three separate years while working at Corning. He had a passion for collecting chiming clocks.

He also had an extensive collection of lawn mowers and bicycles. He had many cars throughout his life; his family often joked he would get a new car once the ash tray was full. He is survived by the love of his life: Shirley A. Speicher; 3 children: Peggy (Edward) Mapes of Watkins Glen; Raymond (Rachel) Harrison of Millport, Ralph Harrison of Ithaca; brother: Jacob VanPelt of Corning, NY; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased his siblings: Leland VanPelt, and Nettie VanPelt. At Lloyd’s request there will be no services. Kind words or fond memories of Lloyd may be offered to his family at www.
