Obituary of David Colvin David E. Colvin, 54 years, of Corning, NY passed away on Tuesday November 6, 2018 at his home surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 6, 1963 in Corning, the son of Roy and Joan (Ketchum) Colvin. David graduated from Corning East High School, class of 1983.

He worked as a security guard for Ingersoll Rand before relocating to Raleigh, NC where he also worked in security with over 20 years combined service. David will be remembered for his love of amateur radio – talking worldwide to people on his Ham radio – under the handle N2LID. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and eating wings at the Rock Bottom Bar in Corning.

He is survived by three children: Trevor Colvin, Christine Black and Kendra Keck; mother, Joan Colvin; grandchildren: Bryce Koontz and Theo Black; siblings: Thomas Colvin, Robert (Sandra) Colvin; nieces and nephews: Daniel, Thomas, Amanda, Matthew and Mitchell; dearest friend, Becky Noyes-Holsopple; and roommate and good friend, Charles Walters. David was predeceased by his father Roy Colvin. Per David’s request, there will be no calling hours or services.

Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s name may be made to CareFirst, 3805 Meads Creed Rd, Painted Post, NY 14870.
