Obituary of Harry Blodgett Harry R. Blodgett, 80 years, of Corning, NY passed away on Sunday. November 25, 2018 at Corning Hospital. He was born on December 29, 1937 in Corning,NY the son of the late Walter and the late Anna (Pagano) Blodgett.

He served both active and reserves in the NYS National Guard from 1955 to 1963. He married the love of his life, Bernice Harrington on April 27, 1957 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Corning. Harry will be remembered for his love of family, hunting, fishing and camping – spending over 35 years traveling to Canada.

He also enjoyed tending to B’s flowers. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bernice Blodgett of Corning, NY; children: Jeff (Holly McKay) Blodgett of Campbell, NY, Rodney Blodgett of West Union, OH, David (Michelle) Blodgett of Chester, NJ, Harry (Nikki) Blodgett, Jr. of Peebles, OH; grandsons: Jeff (Nicole Burgess) Blodgett, Jr., Brent (Danielle House) Blodgett, Nick (Jessica Sheer) Blodgett, Dane (Amanda Wright) Blodgett, Tyler Blodgett, predeceased by his youngest grandson, Harry Blodgett, III, Mike DeBenedictis and Wyatt Cluxton; granddaughters: Nicki (Steve) Clarke, Lindsey Blodgett, Caitlin Blodgett, Bryndle Blodgett, Nicky DeBenedictis, Brooke Cluxton; great granddaughters: Bella Clarke, Hunter Bauman, Daisy Blodgett and also his boxer Ruger a.k.a Bubba; and brother, Walter (Judy) Blodgett; brothers and sisters-in-law: Leona, Dot, Leon, Pat, Ruth, Carol, Roy, Ronnie, Coley, Dick, Max and Ed and spouses; special niece, Penny Weaver; and several God children, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harry was predeceased by his only sister, Geraldine Harrington and brothers and sister in-law: Andy, Jim, Wess, Bill, Walt and Frannie.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 30, 2018 from from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Church, 155 State Street, Corning, NY on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 1:00 pm, Father Lewis Brown officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the family plot in Rural Home Cemetery, Big Flats, NY.
