Obituary of Paul Pell Paul Roberts Pell, (Alan A. Pellegrino) age 57, Addison, NY entered into rest, October 22, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Elmira, NY. He was born in Bristol, PA, September 24, 1961 to Dominic and Elaine Pellegrino. They resided in Bucks County, PA, later at their farm, Columbia Cross Roads, PA, until moving to Big Flats, NY, then St. Augustine, Fl.

Eventually Paul settled near Addison, NY. He held Bachelors and Master’s degrees from LaSalle University, PA, Providence College, RI, and Florida State University. He was a Certified Braille Proofreader for the Library of Congress and was employed by the Xavier Society and other braille publishers.

He held council positions for the Third Order of St. Francis, Corning area, and the Knights of Columbus, Elkland, PA, where he was a Fourth Degree Knight. Paul was a communicant and choir member at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Elkland, PA, and previously at St. Vincent’s, Corning. He was proud of his patriot ancestry and a member of the Newtown Battle Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

In earlier years, Paul was employed locally as a Latin and German Teacher, and with the Christian Brothers of Fall River, RI. And he worked as a German translator. Paul is survived by his wife Colleen Patrice Pell, Painted Post, NY; two sisters: Maryanne (John R.) Morris, RN, Bozeman, MT and Gloria House, Corning; a brother: Stephen (Marcia) Pellegrino, Narragansett, RI; six nieces and nephews: Rachel Lenhardt, Corning, NY; Jennifer (Robert) Heiler, Farmington, NY; David (Debra) Merritt, Saegertown, PA; Karen (Will) Jordan, Bozeman, MT; Dr. Adam (Marit) Morris, Austin,TX; Risha Pellegrino, Narragansett RI; as well as 2 great nieces and 7 great nephews.

Along with his parents, Paul was predeceased by a sister, Karen Steinman. He loved the outdoors, and attended Camp Lamoka for many years and several camps for the blind. In addition, he had four seeing eye dogs, and is survived by Scout.

Paul also attended schools for the blind and after leaving teaching changed his name to better compensate is visual disability, and held an officer position for PALS. Memorials donations in his honor may be directed to the Leader Dogs the Blind 1039 S. Rochester Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48307. Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning, NY on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 11:00am-1:00pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30pm at St. Mary’s Church, 155 State St., Corning, NY. Entombment will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum. Kind words or fond memories of Paul can be offered to his family at www.
