Obituary of Lawrence Dunning Lawrence E. Dunning, age 89, of Corning, NY passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Appleridge Senior Living. Lawrence was born on December 17, 1928 in Lindley, NY to Lawrence and Josephine (Soule) Dunning. He married Maude I. Dunning on November 29, 1952 at the East Lindley Baptist Church.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Maude Dunning on June 19, 2018. He worked for Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post for 38 years and later Rimco Plastics for 10 years as a pattern maker, retiring in 1993. Lawrence was an accomplished woodworker, crafting countless pieces of furniture that adorn the homes of many of his family and friends.

These pieces are now treasures to his family. Lawrence also enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as traveling with his wife, Maude. He is survived by his daughters: Linda (Rev.

David) Prince of Trade Lake, WI and Patricia (Rev. Mark) Spaid of Naples, NY; two sons: Paul (Jeanna) Dunning of Big Flats, NY and Darryl (Bethany) Dunning of Big Flats, NY; brother: Andrew (Naomi) Dunning of Painted Post, NY; twelve grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Lawrence was predeceased by his sister, Leona Dunning.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at Carpenter’s Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St. Corning, NY on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 1:30pm with Rev. Sheldon Roblyer officiating. Donations in honor of Lawrence can be directed to the East Lindley Baptist Church, 10039 Tannery Creek Road, Corning, NY and/or the Lindley-Presho Fire Department, 9541 Tannery Creek Road, Lindley, NY 15858.
