Obituary for Lois Marie Hickman Lois Marie Hickman, age 85 of Glendive, Montana fell asleep in death on Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care. A memorial service for family and friends will be held June 9th at 2:00 p.m. MDT, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 100 Oak St. Glendive MT. Silha Funeral Home of Glendive has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Lois was born on November 20, 1932 to Alvin and Ruby (Fleagle) Siemsen in Gladstone, Nebraska. She was raised and educated in Kimball, Nebraska. Following her education, Lois began working in the home of the aunt and uncle of her future husband, Max Hickman.

He was also working there and that is how Max and Lois met. They were united in marriage in Kimball on October 18, 1950. To this union four daughters were born.

Max and Lois lived in various places in Nebraska until 1958 when Max was transferred to Glendive with Halliburton. Lois fell in love with Glendive where she stayed busy taking care of the home and her children. She loved spending time with her family and was overjoyed when grandchildren and great grandchildren came along.

Lois enjoyed the outdoor life, especially hunting and fishing. She also was an avid artifact and agate collector. She was always on the lookout for a good place to arrowhead hunt, rock hunt or look for dinosaur bones and she usually found it.

After Max retired, they enjoyed traveling in their motor home together. Lois was a member of the Glendive Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and she considered the congregation part of her family. One of her greatest joys was sharing the Bible with others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister LaVerna, her brother Darrel and her grandson Eric Priemesberger. She is survived by her husband, Max of Glendive, her four daughters, Marcia (Jim) Burrows of Glendive, Brenda Hopkins (Bill Gorder) of Broadus, Montana, Ruby (Jerry) Jasmin of Williston, North Dakota, and Kay Lynn (Bill) Wilson of Fallon, Montana and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
