Obituary of Loretta Niccum Loretta Madeline Niccum June 27, 1940 ~ April 7, 2018 Loretta Madeline Niccum, 77, Marion, passed away in Marion General Hospital at 2:48 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018. She was born in Alexandria on June 27, 1940, and was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Stanley) Wood, Sr.. Loretta married John Thurman Niccum on October 26, 1960, and they were married nearly 45 years before he preceded her in death on June 28, 2005.

She was a homemaker who served her husband and children faithfully. Loretta will be remembered for how much she loved her family and how she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will also be remembered for how much she loved watching her shows on TV.

Loretta was a former member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughters, Ellen Jolene (Steve) Partenheimer, Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Teresa Ann Niccum, Gas City; son, John T. Niccum, Jr.; half-brother, Charles (Barbara) Cox, Yorktown; grandchildren, Amanda, Kimberly, Kegan, and Justin; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Wood, Jr.; sister, Marietta Rogers; half-sisters, Marjorie and Sue; and grandson, David.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018, Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. , Marion, IN, with an Eastern Star service at 7:30 p.m. Services to celebrate Loretta’s life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Bishir officiating. Burial will follow at Estates of Serenity.
