Obituary of Donald Weber Donald “Don” W. Weber, 85, Marion, passed away at Miller’s Merry Manor at 3:55 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018. He was born in Marion on February 2, 1933, and was the son of the late Clyde and Mary (Huffman) Weber. After graduating from Marion High School in 1952, Don entered the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Europe.

Following his discharge from service, Don returned to Marion and worked at General Motors and attended Ball State University. In 1957, he married Gene Ann (Atkinson) Weber and, after 35 years of working for General Motors, Don retired. Don was a member of Elks Country Club and a former member of the Exchange Club.

He enjoyed all kinds of sports and was a fan of the Purdue Boilermakers. While in high school, Don was a lifeguard at the Matter Park pool, and he played football and basketball for the Marion Giants. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Gene Ann; sister, Ruby (Don) Wyatt; and several nieces and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother, John Weber. A private funeral service and entombment will take place at Marion National Cemetery with Pastor Laurie Wolcott officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave.
