Obituary of Janie Hayde Janie L. Hayde, 81, Marion, passed away at 8:50 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Marion General Hospital. She was born in Marion on October 6, 1936, to the late Eugene and Fern (Lotz) Moore. Janie retired from Thomson Consumer Electronics (formerly RCA), where she was a machine attendant.

She was previously the owner/operator of a used bookstore in Marion called Paperback Peddler. Janie was an avid NASCAR fan and especially followed Dale Earnhardt. She was also an avid book reader, and she loved working puzzles, going shopping, and watching murder mysteries.

She will be missed by her son, David (Jill King) Brown, Marion; daughter, Pati Winchell, Jonesboro; grandchildren, Micki Marcum, Jonesboro, Jimmy Roll, Marion, Danyell (Tracie Heater) Roll, Marion, Ryan (Nicole) Brown, Fishers, Dachia Brown, Marion, and Dustin Peterson, Marion; great-grandchildren, Terra Eccles, Gas City, Mackenzie Marcum, Jonesboro, Ashley Enyeart, Marion, and Brooke Enyeart, Marion; 16 great-great-grandchildren; best friends, Melissa Rhum, Muncie, and Joan Turner, Summitville; and sister, Judy Bryant, Marion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ardith Fry, and niece, Rhonda Jefferies. The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave.

, Marion, IN. Services to celebrate Janie’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
