Louis Clayton Koser, 90, of Bemidji, MN, formerly of Seattle, WA, died on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Neilson Place in Bemidji. Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Ohio. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.

He was born July 21, 1927, in Bellevue, OH, the son of Harry and Helen (Weber) Koser. He was raised and educated in Bellevue, OH. After graduating from High School he attended Bowling Green University in Bowling Green, Ohio.

He received… Read More » a degree in Elementary Education, and taught one year in Hayesville, OH. Louis then moved to Seattle, WA, where he was an Elementary School teacher for many years. He was an active member of the First Lutheran Church of West Seattle.

He enjoyed traveling, driving to all 48 continental United States and Alaska too. He toured Russia, and spent time in Germany researching family genealogy back to the 13th Century. He always sent postcards of his travels and returned with gifts for his family.

He was an avid student of History, becoming an expert on President Lincoln, the Civil War, and travelling the Oregon Trail. He collected coins and stamps, and enjoyed listening to Classical Music and Opera. He had a big heart, and loved his family.

He is survived by his: Siblings, Don Koser of Bellevue, OH, Richard Koser of Bellevue, OH, Betty (Charlie) Schaefer of Buxton, Maine, Nancy (Henry) Huff of Kelliher, MN, Nieces, nephews, cousins, And dear friends in Seattle. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Catherine Peters, Ella Bursley, sisters-in-law Phyllis Koser, Nancy Koser, brothers-in-law George Peters, and Ray Bursley.
