Marcelino Colón Sr., 88, of Exeter Township, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 8:15 am in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of the late Gloria I. (Perea) who passed away October 31, 2001. He was born February 1, 1930 in Santurce, Puerto Rico the son of the late Tomas Colón and Francisca Cruz Marcelino was a crane operator for Birdsboro Steel for thirty eight years retiring in 1995.

Upon his retirement, he worked for five years with the City of Reading Street Department and was a member of Saint Joseph RCC. CHILDREN Nancy Colón, Exeter – two children and four grandchildren Lucy Torres, Muhlenberg – two children and three grandchildren Gloria Diaz, Exeter – two children and one grandchild Mary Lozada (husband George Lozada) Muhlenberg – two children and two grandchildren. Miriam DeCesare (husband Frank DeCesare) Flying Hills – three children and three grandchildren Olga Colón – four children and 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren Marcelino Colón Jr (wife Maria Colón)- Wyomissing – two children BROTHERS Tomas Colón, Naphtali Colón and Hector Daubon – Puerto Rico Deceased brothers- Francisco Colón Reading PA, Marcelino C Figueroa Bayamon PR, and Eligio Colón, Reading PA SISTERS Maria Santiago, Aida Colón, Hilda Rodriguez and Margarita Colón – Puerto Rico Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 5:30 pm.

Interment will be held in Gethsemane Cemetery, Monday, April 16, 2018 at 10:00 am. Reverend Monsignor John J. Grabish will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Saturday 4:00-5:30 pm.
