Margarete “Grete” Shorts, 94, of 9108 State Hwy. 198, Conneautville, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community. Grete was born in Munich, Germany, on September 12, 1923, a daughter of the late Heinrich and Magdalena (Ammerich) Denk.

On January 1, 1947 Grete married Ralph Bean in Pleasantville and they shared 37 years together until his death. She subsequently married Norman Shorts in Florida and they share 16 years together. At the age… Read More » of 62 Grete retired from GTI with 16 years of service.

She had previously been employed by Channellock for eight years and in her younger years while living in Germany, she worked as a beauty operator for eight years. She enjoyed traveling and flowers. Grete is survived by two daughters Carol Brooks and her husband Larry, Loretta Miller and her husband David, both of Meadville, a granddaughter Teresa Lee and her husband Brandon, and a great grandson Alex.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Grete was preceded in death by a brother. At the request of Grete, there will no be services. She will be laid to rest in Blooming Valley Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of STEPHEN P. MIZNER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC. , 330 BROAD ST. , SAEGERTOWN.
