Margie’s Obituary Margie Ann Myers, age 95, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch. Margie was born January 16, 1924 in Picher, Oklahoma, daughter of the late Charles Elmer Edwards and Edna Agee Edwards. Edna passed away while Margie was a child, and she was reared by her grandmother, Nannie Edwards, whom she loved very much.

Margie has lived in the Joplin area most of her life, and married Roy M. Myers on June 3, 1943 in Joplin, after 56 years together, he preceded her in death on September 2, 1999. She was a stay at home mother who loved her family, and loved going to second hand stores, flea markets, and rummage sales looking for bargains. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, and meeting all their friends at 4th Street Bowl, where they participated in bowling leagues for years.

The last few years were spent loving on her three dogs. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors include her children, Dennis Myers and wife Nancy of Joplin, Vicki Myers Dees and husband Harold of Marshfield, Missouri, Roy Michael Myers, and David Myers and wife Deanie all of Joplin; six grandchildren, Blake Myers, Tracy Smart, Brian Myers, Tammy Willhoit, Christopher Yearton, and Steffani Antle, 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday, March 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Park Cemetery with Chaplain Robert Mattingly officiating, and grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Monday from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. prior to graveside. The family wishes to thank the Doctors and staff of The Communities of the Wildwood Ranch, and the staff of Three Rivers Hospice for their special care attention they showed Margie.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Joplin Humane Society.
