Marian Gay Millett, 83, of West Burlington, formerly Muscatine, died at 1:29 AM Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington. Born August 4, 1934, in Muscatine, she was the daughter of Harold and Vina Althaus Cunningham. On May 20, 1977, she married Raymon King Millett at the Sycamore Baptist Church in Muscatine.

He died on February 7, 2002. She worked at several factories and then as a Nurse Aide before obtaining her LPN Degree from Creston College. She was of the Baptist Faith.

She enjoyed fishing, crafting, crocheting, sewing, and loved animals, especially her dog Annie. Survivors include her two daughters, Chris (David) Oleson of West Burlington and Mari (Patrick) Garrett of Mediapolis; one son, Thomas (Debbie) Laucamp of West Burlington; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Troute of Mediapolis and Juanita Smith of West Liberty; two brothers, Raymond (Ruby) Cunningham of Cairo, IA and Clarence “Sonny” (Lily) Cunningham of Missouri; one half-brother, James Cunningham; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harold Cunningham.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Friday, June 15, 2018 at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home. The funeral service for Mrs. Millett will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 15, 2018, at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Graber officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held in the community room at Prugh~Thielen Funeral Home following the service.

Burial will be in Drury Reynolds Cemetery, Illinois City, IL. Because of her compassion for animals in need, a memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
