Obituary for Marilyn Joan Kennedy Trabue DAVENPORT – Marilyn Joan Kennedy Trabue, 83, wife of John Vernon Trabue, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at McLeod Health Clarendon. Born September 20, 1935, in Midland, Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late William Adam Kennedy and the late Louella Magdelena Mistele Kennedy. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education from Wayne State University, Michigan.

She taught art for 30 years in Warren Consolidated Schools in Warren Michigan beginning in the late 1950’s until her retirement and moved to South Carolina. She taught an additional six years in Sumter County School District. She loved ballroom dancing, music and art.

She loved a good game of bingo with friends and her daughter. Despite her small size, her personality was one that was fierce, especially regarding the people she loved. Most of all she loved her Lord Jesus Christ, and faithfully turned to Him in good times and times of trial.

She had a love for children of all ages. She was a remarkable art teacher for over 40 years. She loved to dance with her husband and they taught ballroom dancing together.

The look on her face when they were dancing was best described as Euphoric. She had a deep abiding love for her husband, as well as her whole family. She showed so much faith in her life when trials came, always turning to her Lord for answers.

Her family is saddened by this loss but happy about her entrance into paradise. She is survived by her husband of 60 years; a son, John William Trabue (Mindy) of Lugoff, SC; a daughter, Deborah Hiller of Davenport, FL; four grandchildren, Christina Crocker, Magen Hiller, John Austin Boerger and William Trabue; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Maureen Kennedy Verhaegen (Ardy) of Kitchener, Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a beloved son in law, Douglas Wayne Hiller.
