Marilyn Voorhees April 19, 1939 – March 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Marilyn Jane Voorhees of Crawfordsville passed away Thursday evening at Ben Hur Health. She was 79. Mrs. Voorhees worked as a secretary in a local insurance office before becoming a teacher’s aide, mainly at Hose School.

She loved to sew and do needlework. She and her husband, Jim, would travel all over the country and enjoyed it very much. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

Born April 19, 1939 in Crawfordsville she was the daughter of Lloyd Williams and Nellie Reynolds Williams. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School, class of 1957 and attended I.U. She married Dallas McLaughlin and he passed away in 1984.

She married James “Jim” Voorhees in 1986 and he survives. Surviving family includes: husband, Jim Voorhees; two sons, Steve (Diane) McLaughlin and Mark McLaughlin; grandson, Kyle (Amber) McLaughlin; granddaughter, Emily McLaughlin. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, and a sister.

Visitation will be from Noon to 2 PM on Monday, March 18 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Avenue, with services starting at 2 PM led by Pastor Darla Goodrich. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery South. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County Community Foundation, P.O. Box, 334 Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
