Marjorie Helen Perkins, 86, of Connersville, Indiana, passed away February 21, 2019, with her family by her side. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in Jesus supported her and her family to help give them peace in her passing. She was born to parents, Ernest and Idris King, June 24, 1932 in Richmond, Indiana.

Marj worked as a legal secretary for many years for John Himelick and Richard N. Smith. Marj was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. The family would like to express their thanks for all of the support, cards, prayers and phone calls that Grace Church has given to Marj and her family.

Marj was a kind, loving and giving person who would do anything for anybody and never left anyone out. She accepted and loved you for who you were, and she never met a stranger. If you ever stopped and chatted with her for any length of time, you would soon find out about her Jesus and how real He was in her life.

Her family finds comfort in knowing that she now walks hand in hand with “her Jesus”, and they are waiting for the day that they can be reunited with her. Marj’s favorite place to be was home. If she went on vacation to the beach (her second favorite place), she always got homesick and longed for home.

She is no longer homesick; she is home! ! !

She married her best friend, William A. Perkins in 1951. Marj is survived by her husband of 67 years, William A. Perkins; son, Dave Perkins and wife, Wanda; daughter, Lynda Hannus and husband, Scott; daughter, Joy Bell and husband, Tim; seven grandchildren, Wes Perkins and wife, Lindsey and their children, Alice and Ruby; Drew Perkins and fiancé, Stacey Buell; Nathan Bell and wife, Patti Ann; Shelby Bell; Apryl Hannus; Ryan Hannus and Tyler Hannus. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and lots of nieces, and nephews.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support in many heart-felt forms from too many people to name individually. Marj would ask that you know “her Jesus” as intimately as she did, and if you do, she would assure you that you will no longer be homesick. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.

Reverend Jeff Whitlock will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Marj, can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital on their website or mailed to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, and online condolences may be made anytime at millermosterrobbins.com.
