Obituary for Marlene Marie Jacobson Marlene Marie Jacobson, 81, of Manorcare Nursing Home, formerly of Vulcan, MI, passed away on June 25, 2018. She was born November 20, 1936 in Niagara, daughter of the late Alcide and Laura (Durocher) Brault. She married Ralph “Jake” Jacobson in a double wedding ceremony with her sister, Beverly, and her husband Ronald Richard on June 21, 1958 at the St. Anthony’s Church in Niagara.

Her husband, Ralph “Jake”, preceded her in death on July 15, 1984 after 26 years of their married life together. Marlene and Ralph “Jake” raised their three kids Gary, Steve and Janet in East Kingsford. Throughout her life, she worked at the hotel in Niagara, sewing factory in Iron Mountain, Roosevelt & Garden Village Schools, Norway Gravure and later for her sons at Jacobson Heating until her retirement.

After her husband’s passing, she met Wayne Wollum in 1985. They spent 33 years together enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. Marlene was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and everyone’s favorite auntie.

She was affectionately called “Grandma Jake” by all. Marlene always had a way to “liven up” any get-together. She always went out of her way to say “hello” to someone she knew or didn’t know on the street.

God gave her an amazing gift. Marlene had the most forgiving heart and was the sweetest person and always had a positive outlook on life. She survived by her companion, Wayne Wollum of Vulcan; and her three children of Kingsford, two sons, Gary (Connie) Jacobson, Steve (Bonnie) Jacobson and a daughter, Janet (Patrick) Maraccini.

Six grandchildren Mallory (Derek) Koller, Taylor Jacobson, Wesley Jacobson, Mario, Marla & Marcus Maraccini. Two great-grandchildren Jacob and Drake Koller. She also survived by three brothers, Leroy “Jug” Brault of Pembine, Ronald (Gloria) Brault of Niagara, her twin Marvin (Mary) Brault of Crystal Falls.

Her sister-in-laws Ginger Brault of Niagara, Alice Mans of Pembine, Esther Cram of Nebraska. Also survived by many nieces & nephews and great nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Marlene was preceded in death by two sisters, Mayfern Brault, and Beverly (Brault) Richard and a brother, Merton Brault, three sister-in-laws, Geri Brault, Ruth Raatz, Frances Reed, four brother-in-laws Quentin Raatz, Steve and Jim Reed and Ronald “Ronnie” Richard .

Also, a special very niece, Laurie Richard. Friends may call from 8:30 am until 10:30 am Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at the American Martyr’s Church in Kingsford.

Fr. Joseph Gouin will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Quinnesec Cemetery.
