Martha Odean Flippo June 18, 1933 – January 29, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Funeral service for Martha Odean Boyce Flippo, age 85, of Shelbyville, will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, February 2, 2019, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Scott Reed and Joe Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Pressgrove Cemetery. Mrs. Flippo passed from this life Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at home with her family by her side.

Visitation will be held Saturday Feb. 2, 2019, from 11:00am until 2:00pm at the funeral home. Born June 18, 1933, in Shelbyville, TN she was the daughter of the late Robert Clyde and Sallie Ann Baker Boyce and is preceded in death by: husband of 49 years, James Robert Flippo; brothers, Cecil, Melvin, and Jerrell Boyce; sisters, Deloris Wessner, and Barbara Baugher.

She was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed caring for her family, anything from quilting to canning. In her free time she traveled, went on cruses, went dancing, and also fished.

She was fun loving, never met a stranger and absolutely loved her grandbabies and great grandbabies. She will be missed very much by her family and friends. Survivors include: children; Martha Ann (Keith) Carpenter of Mobil, AL, Becky (Steven) Landers and James Allen Flippo both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Erin (Mathew) Ballinger, Jason (Nicole) Landers, Joel (Felicia) Landers, Mandy (Neil) Bobo, 11 great grandchildren and a bunch more she has taken in over the years; brothers, J.B. (Donna) Boyce, Clyde (Margie) Boyce, Larry (Linda) Boyce all of Shelbyville, an assortment of nieces and nephews.
