Obituary for MARY STILLE (D’Ambrosio) Mary Ann Stille, 83, of N. Pine St., Gwinn, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, July 5, 2018 at her home with her loving family at her side and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice. Mary was born August 24, 1934 in Gwinn to Anthony and Emma (Duca) D’Amborsio, graduated from Gwinn High School, Class of 1953 and was a lifelong Gwinn resident. She was employed for several years as a medical receptionist for Dr. Kronschnabel, and also worked as a teacher’s aide for the Marquette-Alger Intermediate School District.
Mrs. Stille was a devout member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gwinn where she served in the altar society and taught catechism. She loved cooking large Italian dinners for her family and friends, and cherished time spent with her grandchildren while they were growing up. Mary and her husband, Gerry, enjoyed spending winters together in Port St. Lucie, FL.
They were avid Green Bay Packers fans, always cheering them on whether at Lambeau Field or watching on TV. Surviving are her loving husband of 64 years, Gerry Stille of Gwinn; son, Jon Stille of Lake Worth, FL; daughter, Terry (Jeff) Ayotte of Gwinn; four grandchildren: Jason (Morgan) and Bryan Adams, Emily Ayotte and Giancarlo Stille; a great-grandson, Blaze Adams; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joan Laituri; and two brothers, Vincent ‘Geno’ and Joseph D’Ambrosio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 11th at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Gwinn with Rev. Allen Mott officiating. Interment will be in the Gwinn Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 9:30 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am in the Baraga Room at St. Anthony’s on Wednesday, and also at a luncheon to be served in the church hall immediately following services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Mary Ann’s memory to the St. Anthony Catholic Church Endowment Fund, 280 N. Boulder St., Gwinn, MI 49841.
