Obituary for Mary Easton Mary Easton, 93, died at 7:45 a.m. on Christmas Eve, receiving her wish to spend Christmas in Heaven this year. She was born on September 17, 1924, in Jackson County to Albert and Minnie Mezo Morber. She grew up on Buttermilk Hill.

She married Tom L. Easton on November 5, 1940. Tom preceded her in death on March 28, 2002. They shared over 61 years of marriage.

She leaves children, Helen Nelson and Charles (Buddy) Payne of Murphysboro, Cora and John Nelson and Tom E. and Mary all of Ft. Myers, FL. ; grandchildren: Amy(Mike) Karg of Murphysboro, Kevin (Lisa) Nelson of Wake Forest, NC, Michael (Molly) Slaybaugh of Smyrna, TN, Keith (Barbara) Slaybaugh and Sheri(Mark) Cox of Fort Myers, FL and Lisa (Mark) Milligan of Naples, FL; great –grandchildren: Lucas and Noah Nelson, Lauren, Natalie and Ryan Karg, Jennifer Cianci, Blakely and Parker Slaybaugh, Jamie Cox and Matthew, Zak, Vadeem and Ollie Milligan; and three great-great-grandchildren, as well as two step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Karen Smith, Joyce Cotton and Joan Cameron and brother-in-law, Bill Easton, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, George, John and Clarence Morber and two sisters, Alice Mifflin and Della Thompson and dear friends, Helen Hickam and Doris Lindsey. Mary loved helping people and cooking, especially baking pies.

She never met a stranger and loved telling her stories and jokes to anyone who would listen. She lived life to the fullest until her health failed in recent months. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00- 8:00 at Crawshaw Funeral Home and Saturday from 9:00 until the service at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Murphysboro, Donations may be made to Mt.

Joy Cemetery or the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
