Obituary for Mary Ellen Doutt Bragg Print Mary Ellen Doutt Bragg lost her battle with cancer and sang her way through Heaven’s gate early Tuesday morning on January 30, 2019, surrounded by her three children and her husband. As charter members of Tri-Cities Baptist Church and active members of the body of Christ, she loved and served the Lord faithfully all of her life. Mary and Glenn ministered to inmates through prison ministry for over 20 years; she taught English as a second language was a Sunday school teacher and enjoyed serving on many mission trips.

Mary was born June 23, 1933 to Earl and Camille Doutt, born in Ft. Blackmore, VA. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Glenn, and three children, Rebecca Bragg Hicks, Glenda Bragg Powell, her husband, Michael, and Brandon Glenn Bragg, five grandchildren, Jacob Hicks, Jordan Hicks, Sarah Noto Phillips, wife of Garrison, Austin Phillips and wife, Christen, Melian Phillips, and Carlie Bragg, two great grandchildren, Solomon and Mary Violet, with another great-grandson on the way, one sister Bobbie Doutt Richards, and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, four siblings, Clifford Doutt, Jerry Doutt, Doris Clayman and Thelma Miller, and one grandson, Garrison Glenn Phillips. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She will be missed by all who love her.

A celebration service will be held Saturday, February 2nd at Tri- Cities Baptist Church, 171 Promise Land Drive, Johnson City, with visitation 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. with funeral service to follow with Pastor Gene Mermilliod and Mike Laughrun officiating. Graveside service will follow at East Tennessee Cemetery, Blountville.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to her church home, Tri-Cities Baptist Church, The American Cancer Society, or The Ronald McDonald House or The World Vision, Inc.
