Mattie Lou Barnett Poteet May 10, 1917 – January 06, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mattie Lou Barnett Poteet, 101, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Dyersburg Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 10, 1917, in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Roy and Eva Evans. Mattie was a homemaker and was a member of Hurricane Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Hurricane Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jack Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 12-1 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the church. Survivors include her two sons, Eddie Barnett and wife, Ginger, and Lynn Barnett, all of Dyersburg; three grandchildren, Drew Barnett, Dana Halterman and Terry Traylor; and six great-grandchildren, Shea Barnett, Hollyn Barnett, Lyla Barnett, Christian Halterman, Claire Halterman and James Scott Halterman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Paul Barnett and S.C. Poteet; a daughter, Paulette Campion; a sister, Sue Dowdy; and two brothers, Joe Evans and Eugene “Buck” Evans.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Barnett, Lynn Barnett, Drew Barnett, Terry Traylor, Bubba Fowler and Chad Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Col. Robert Lynch and Mike Morgan.
