Obituary for Merna Carlene Urbach Merna Carlene Urbach, 65, of South Connellsville, slipped away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on April 7, 2018 at her home while surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 4, 1953 in Connellsville a daughter of Cora Mardell Hershberger Fullem of South Connellsville and the late Carl D. Fullem.

Merna was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the class of 1971 and was a lifelong member of the Albright United Methodist Church in South Connellsville. She was a devoted and exceptionally loving wife, mom, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We are so thankful that she is whole and healthy once again, and we are confident that she is enjoying flower gardening, the birds and butterflies, and making things beautiful in Heaven, just as she did on earth.

She absolutely loved ‘making memories’ with her husband of 45 years, Ken Urbach, who has been steadfastly by her side since they were very young, and her grandchildren, who she adored, Lilia Callen, Rachel Callen, Nathan Callen, Jackson Callen, and Clayton Urbach. She was a beautiful example of love, grace, and devotion to her two children, Jason Urbach and wife Renee of Bullskin Twp. and Jamie Callen and Robert Callen of Greensburg.

Merna is also survived by her sisters Nancy D. Mauk of Oaks, PA. and Karen M. LeWellen of Bullskin Twp. In addition to her father Merna was predeceased by a sister Regina Fullem.

Family and friends will be received Tue. from 2-4 and 6-9 PM in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St. Connellsville (724-628-1430). Additional viewing will be held Wed.

from 9-11 AM, the hour of a funeral service , in the Albright U.M. Church, 1626 S. Pittsburgh St., South Connellsville, PA. 15425, with Rev. Steven Lamb officiating.

Interment will be in the Normalville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Albright U.M. Church or the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV. 25438 or St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN.
