Michael G. Knight,70, of Parkersburg passed away July 17, 2018 at his residence. Michael was born on October 28, 1947 in Parkersburg and was the son of the late Wilbur T. and Sarah (Miller) Knight. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and served as a past commander of the State Disabled American Veterans and Local Chapter #6.

Michael also retired from NAPA Auto Parts. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting, and most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Carolyn Sue Knight; three children Angela Knight (Craig), Patrick “Mike” Knight, and Matthew Knight all three of Parkersburg; six grandchildren Danielle Burke, Katlyn Knight, Nicholas Knight, Ali Knight, Michaela Townsend, and Brandon Townsend; two great-grandchildren Madilyn Knight and Lucas Canterbury; three sisters Brenda Wilcoxen, Linda Fox, and Cathy Knight; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his grandson Patrick Knight; brothers Eugene and Gary Knight; infant brother Terry; and his father-and-mother-in-law Clay and Betty Patrick. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 21, 2018, 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Mike Lamb officiating. Burial will follow at Limestone Cemetery with full military rites by American Legion Post #15.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 20, 2018, 6-8 PM & Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Donations may be sent to the family to assist with funeral expenses. To send flowers or a remembrance gift to the family of Michael Knight, please visit our Tribute Store.
