Mike Herring, age 66 of Whiteville passed on September 27, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. He is the son of the late Mollie Bell Simms Herring and James “Luke” Eugene Herring and was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Hannon; four siblings, Ada Ruth Herring, Mary Ann H. Adair, Susan H. Stubbs and Margaret Herring.

He was employed by Amco Electric for 20 years and later at National Spinning in Whiteville for over 20 years. To cherish his memory he leaves his wife, Joyce Faye Griffin Herring of the home; two children, Billy Ray Hannon (Lorie) of Whiteville and Lorie H. Canady (Chris) of Hallsboro; his sister, Josie H. Butler of Chadbourn; two grandchildren, Mandy Hannon and Chelsea Lee; four great-grandchildren, Carson Skipper, Cali Brewer, Ryder Nance and Nixon Nance.
