Mildred’s Obituary Mildred Elizabeth LaBar, 102, of Stroudsburg, died Monday morning, January 21, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Graydon Elwood LaBar with whom she shared 69 years of marriage at the time of his death on December 15, 2005. Born on November 7, 1916 at home in Tobyhanna, she was a daughter of the late William and Gertude Gertie Mae (Gloss) Weber.

She attended Bull Run School and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County and was a resident of Pleasant Valley Manor in Hamilton Township for the past eleven years. Mildred was employed at Holland Thread Mill in Stroudsburg until retiring in 1978 after 43 years of service. She enjoyed baking, taking walks around Stroudsburg, visits with her family and smiling for pictures with her family and friends.

Surviving are a daughter, Jean Ludwig of Roanoke, VA; six grandchildren, David Ludwig and his wife Sheryl, Kathy Newkirk and her husband Kyle, Vicki Spannagel and her husband Marty, Gregory Berger and his wife Melissa , Douglas Dailey III and his wife Jessica and Renee Law and her husband Shane; ten great grandchildren, Amy Ludwig, Gretchen Ludwig, Malerie Parr, Amanda Cottrell, Robert Newkirk, Bryana Spannagel, Lance Berger, Tyler Berger, Shea Dailey, and Coel Dailey; six great great grandchildren, Tyler Cottrell, Aiden Cottrell, Cori Newkirk, Emily Ludwig, Bryce Ludwig and Makayla Parr and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joan Devino and Ruth Berger; two brothers, William Weber and Ralph Weber; and three sisters, Lillian Storm, Catherine Smith (Weber) and Anna Fairclough. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all of those who knew her.

A Memorial service will be announced by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made in Mildred’s name to Mady’s Angels, 601 Lower Lake View Drive, East Stroudsburg PA 18302.
