Paul’s Obituary Paul Andrew Van Meerbeke, 51, of Stroudsburg, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Allentown. He was born on September 6, 1967 in Red Bank, NJ to Ronald Charles Van Meerbeke and Joan Ann (Thomas) Van Meerbeke then of Keyport, NJ. The family moved to Wilmington, DE in 1970 where Paul attended Brandywood schools and graduated from Concord High School.

Paul was a member of Boy Scout Troop 435 where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He lived for a time in Scott Depot, WV and attended Marshall University before moving to Stuart, FL. He spent the last 10 years in the Poconos living in Jackson Township.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers: Rev. John David Van Meerbeke and wife Barbara of Gettysburg, PA. , Rev.

David Alan Van Meerbeke and wife Cynthia of Lansdowne, PA and Peter John Van Meerbeke and wife Kristie of Stroudsburg. He is also survived by two aunts, 10 cousins and their children. Paul was very close to his many nieces and nephews and was dedicated to keeping in touch with the entire family.

He will be so greatly missed by his beloved girlfriend Deborah (Debbie) Reed. He was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and an accomplished tennis player with SARTA, a local tennis association. Paul was an avid photographer especially of the Pocono area’s many waterfalls.

He posted many pictures of dogs at AWSOM, the local animal shelter where he frequently volunteered. Many of his pictures can been on Paul’s face book page at “paul van m photos”. Visitation with the family will be held at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday January 29, and 10:00am to 11:00am on Wednesday January 30.

A memorial service will begin at 11:00am Wednesday. Interment for family will be at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Paul’s name to AWSOM, P.O. Box 13, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 or to another charity of your choice.
