He was born November 9,1931 in Detroit to Thomas and Mary Leschuk. He graduated from Sandusky High School Class of 1949.

Mitchell served in the Military for the U.S. Marines and served in Korea. Mitchell married Velora Jean Porterfield in June of 1960. He was a dairy farmer for many years.

Mitchell was also a volunteer driver for 20 years for the Human Development Department and DHS. Mitchell is survived by his 2 children, Michael (Deana) Leschuk, and Linda (Cory) Summersett and a stepson Don Sher along with 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and 2 sisters: Ella Baney and Judy Steinback and a brother, Alex Leschuck. He was preceded in death by his wife Valora , 2 children Tina Helbert and David Leschuk and baby son Mickey.
