Obituary for Mrs Clara Marie Simon Clara Marie Ambs Simon, 84, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at home. She was born on June 7, 1933 in Daviess County Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Wally Simon, her parents Joseph (Joe) Ambs and Mary Clarice Ambs, 3 brothers Martin, Lewis and Joe Lee Ambs, 4 sisters, Lucille Miller, Elizabeth Henderson, Theresa Nesmith and Edna Everly.

Marie retired from Progress Printing in 1998. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Survivors include 9 children, 4 sons, Tony (Jo) Simon of Louisville, Russell Simon of Paducah, Paul (Pat) Simon and Ronnie Simon of Owensboro, 5 daughters, Diane (Steve) Coomes, Karen Simon, Ruth Barr, Patty (Rick Wood) Simon of Owensboro and Barbara (Kurt) Mishler of Louisville, 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Jimmy Miller of Hendersonville, TN and her sister-in-law, Iona Simon of Owensboro. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to The ALS Association, Kentucky Chapter; 8640 Haines Drive, Suite F; Florence, KY 41042.
