Nellie’s Obituary Nellie Jane Hickman, 96, of South Charleston, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018. She was born on January 8, 1922 in Spring Hill, to the late Ernest and Mattie Chittum. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Gail Hickman; daughters, Wilma “Billie” Hudson, Crystal Hickman; brothers, Gordon Chittum, Howard Chittum, William Chittum; sisters, Grace Synder and Norma Eggleton.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Lawrence of South Charleston; foster son, Gary Snyder (Suzie) of Salem, Virginia; grandchildren, Michael, John, Margaret, Rick, Lisa, Mark, Kelly, Patrick; several great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 3, at Abney Street Church of God, St. Albans, with Pastors Steve Hewitt and Jennie Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Abney Street Church of God, St. Albans. Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
