Norma J Neish, November 27, 1937 — January 24, 2019

Norma’s Obituary Norma J. Neish, age 81, of Milton, DE formerly of Chesapeake City, MD and Elkton, MD passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, January 24, 2019. She was born in Seaford, DE on November 27, 1937, daughter of the late Norman Mumford and the late Lois (Hill) Mumford. Norma had worked in fraud investigation for the State of Maryland Social Services Department with over 30 years of service before retiring in 1999.

After retiring and moving to Sus County, Norma worked in a variety of capacities in retail before finding her home at Ace Hardware in Milton, DE. Norma loved the beach, gardening, her animals and spending time with her family. She enjoyed playing games on the boardwalk with her grandchildren, as Norma was really a kid at heart.

She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, friend and coworker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. “Pony Tail Bob” Neish; a son, Douglas Warden; a grandson, Nickolaus Bedwell and a brother, William Mumford. She is survived by five children, Robert Warden and his wife, Leslie of West Deptford, NJ, James Warden and his wife, Pam of Aberdeen, MD, Richard Warden and his wife, Elva of Earlville, MD, Pam Stephens of Newark, DE and Sheryl Bedwell of Ashland, VA.

Norma is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Rocky Stephens, Angelia Warden, Chad Warden, Steve Taylor, Celina Walker, Chris Taylor, Cassandra Poholsky, Meagan Allen, Austin Bedwell, Schylar Stephens, Ha’Leigh Warden and Zack Bedwell; 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd. , Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call after 12:30 PM.

Interment will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park in Milton, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Norma’s name to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
