Obituary for Mrs. Norvell Bowman Nestor Funeral services for Mrs. Norvelle Bowman Nestor, 88, of Oxford, will be on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 12 noon in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Burial at Oxford Memorial Gardens will follow the service. The family will receive friends on the same day from 10:00am until service time.

Mrs. Nestor passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at her home. She is survived by her son, Edward Nestor; daughter, Peggy Buchanan (Joseph); 3 grandchildren, Dr. Patrick Buchanan (Mercedes), Kristin Mireles (Mark), Beth Buchanan; 2 great grandchildren, Christian Zeyela and Alex Buchanan; brother, Howard Bowman; sisters, Laura Beasley and Gail Duke; wonderful and loving caregivers, Denetria McFarlane, Kelley Simpson, and Kim Ramsey. She is preceded in death by her husband, William A. Nestor; parents, WL and Ethyl Bowman; siblings, Marguerite Nixon, Mitylene Brickhouse, Alton Bowman, Joe Bowman, Doris Mattox, Wanda Bryce, and Nelda Snider.

Mrs. Nestor was a graduate of Oxford High School. She worked at Fort McClellan where she met her husband, William A. Nestor. She went on to work at Anniston Army Depot where she was Budget Analysist.

Mrs. Nestor was a hardworking, God fearing woman. She did anything she could for anyone who asked. She was a devoted Army wife and Navy mom.
