Obituary of Nubie “Junior” Harris, Jr. Nubie “Junior” Harris, 91, of Siler City died Sunday, April 22, 2018. Mr. Harris was born in Chatham County on August 18, 1926 the son of John Nubie and Mae (Ray) Harris. Junior was a veteran of the US Marines, attended Rocky River Baptist Church and retired from Randolph Electrical Association as a lineman with more than 40 years of service.

He was fondly known by his co-workers as “Jukie”. Junior was a loving giving person with a quick wit. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Junior was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Sally McLeod Harris and his parents. He is survived by daughter, Patti H. White and husband, Paul of Bear Creek; sons, Jimmy Wayne Harris of Asheboro, Jerry Harris and wife, Connie of Bear Creek, Mike Harris and wife, Rhonda of Burlington; sisters, Marie H. Smith of High Point, Shirley H. Phillips of Trinity, Betty H. Wilson of Bear Creek; brother, Dwaine R. Harris of High Point; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC.

The funeral will be Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Rocky River Baptist Church, 4436 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, Siler City with Rev. Greg Burriss officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City with military rites by the Randolph Honor Guard.
