WEST HARTLAND – LACASSE – Peter D. LaCasse, 83, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of the late Lorraine A. LaCasse for 52 years who passed away in April. Born March 1, 1935 in Burlington, VT; the son of the late Marshall and Marguerite (Finley) LaCasse.

Peter proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956-1962 serving overseas in Korea and Okinawa. In the 60’s and 70’s, he enjoyed water dog racing… Read More » and was a Master of Hounds and held the position of President for the Water Dog Racing Association of New England. Peter worked for many years at Farmington Concrete Construction as well as McCarthy Concrete Construction and worked on many projects for Northwest Community College, Cabela’s and on the Niantic River Bridge as well as hundreds of other projects.

His craftmanship can be found in almost every town in CT. He used his skills in masonry donating the concrete and his labor to build the Little League dug-outs for the Town of Hartland. He was Den Leader to his son, Jeff’s Club Scouts of West Hartland Troop #121.

He, Lorraine and Jeff enjoyed Motor Cross racing quads both locally in Southwick and travelling nationally. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and just listening and watching nature in its glory. He was known for his gardens that were planted every Spring, large enough to feed friends and family.

He was a wonderful, strong personality that will be dearly missed. He leaves his son, Jeffrey P. LaCasse and wife Terri of Tolland, MA; step-son, Robert Brower of White Bear, MI; siblings, Marshall LaCasse, Jr., (Fran), Carol Stadler (Bob), Ronald LaCasse (Penny), Nancy Coon, Linda LaCasse, David LaCasse, James LaCasse, Jackie LaCasse (Tara), Marina Kittridge, Richard LaCasse (Betty) and Peggy Coon (Leon, Sr.); and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Tommy and a sister, Laura Lee.
