Phyllis’ Obituary Phyllis Jean Daniels Garlen, 58, of Monticello formerly of Lawrenceburg, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington. Born May 25, 1960 in Monticello, KY, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Oliver and Alice Rains Daniels. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Larry Pryor Garlen; a step-son Russell Colston; and siblings Larry Daniels, Gary Daniels, and Pearl Prince.

She was a homemaker and for co-owner with her late husband of Garlen Construction. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Phyllis is survived by her children, Michael (Peggy) Hays of Waynesburg and Amanda Hays of Lawrenceburg; step sons, Timmy Garlen, Drew (Stephanie) Garlen, and Matt (Amber) Garlen, all of Lawrenceburg; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Hays, Dakota Hays, Hunter Hays, Kaylan Campbell, and Reed Garlen; 6 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, Reeclynn and Lyla Hays; and her siblings, Dallas (Leta) Daniels of Salvisa, Woodrow (Doris) Daniels of Monticello, Norma (Garland) Leathers of Salvisa, and Wanda Hayes of Leitchfield.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 24th beginning at 2:00 PM at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home. Bro. George Dye and Bro.

Dallas Daniels will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 7 PM. Cremation will follow the services with burial of her cremains at the Hebron Cemetery in Anderson County, KY.
