After a long and courageous battle with health issues, Spann Cathcart, 63, passed away, Wednesday, June 27, 2018, and is in the presence of the Lord. Born on November 18, 1954, in Columbia, SC, he was a son of the late Dick and Ruth Cathcart. Spann was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He was loved by and will be missed by all who knew him. A former member of the Rotary Club in Cayce, Spann was a horseman, enjoyed trail rides, and loved woodworking. He was a graduate of USC, earning a degree in journalism, and opening a small printing business.

Survivors include his loving wife Vicky R. Cathcart; daughter Amanda (Will) Mullinax; grandchildren Aubrey, Allie, Anderson; sister Ruthie (Bob) Cooper; niece Kimberly; and sister-in-law Nancy Cathcart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard Cathcart, III. Funeral services for Spann will be held 1 pm, Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel.

The family will greet friends following the service. A private interment will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Dr., Ste.
