Homer’s Obituary Homer Walters, 89 of Vivian, Louisiana passed away on February 20, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home Chapel in Vivian, Louisiana, officiated by Rev. Eddie Briery.

Burial will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Vivian. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 PM on Friday, February 22nd at the funeral home. Homer was born on February 10, 1930 in DeQueen, Arkansas to Homer and Hazel Walters.

He lived in this area 65 years, and was a member of First Baptist Church Vivian. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served his Country during the Korean War. Homer worked as an Insulator for 25 years and was a member of the Local 22 Insulators Union; he also worked for 2 years on the Alaskan Pipeline.

He loved to fish, hunt, and tinker on things. He also enjoyed watching the Stock Market. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son John Walters, his brother Norman Walters, and his two sisters Peggy Wisdom and Sybil Hale.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Walters of Vivian, LA, his son, Gene Walters and wife Donna of Conroe, TX. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Brian Walters, Tami Bishop and husband Scott, Daniel Walters and wife Andrea, Kane Walters and wife Brittany, and eight great-grandchildren.
