RACHEL’s Obituary Rachel Bauer, 95 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at her home. She was born December 5, 1923 in West Frankfort, IL the daughter of the late Charles and Julianne (Grandsart) Brassart and her family moved to Chicago when she was a young child. She married Joseph Bauer on February 22, 1941 and they spent many years in Chicago, where they raised their family; they settled in Antioch in 1976.

Rachel was a loving caregiver to her daughter, Judith for 69 years; a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother as well as a devoted wife for 68 years to her husband Joseph. Survivors include her daughter, Darlene (Richard) Nelson of Antioch, IL; grandchildren, Matthew Nelson, Michelle Conroy, and Melinda (Michael) Logan; two great-grandchildren, McKenna and Patrick; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Judith.

Visitation will be from 10AM-1PM Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83) with funeral services commencing at 1PM. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Antioch.
