Richard Hartnett, 49, of Peru, passed away Friday evening, June 29, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Peru. Private burial will follow on Friday at Peru City Cemetery.

Mr. Hartnett was born on December 24, 1968 in Sandwich to Paul and Shirley (Orth) Hartnett. Richard graduated from Hall High School with the class 1987. Richard loved music, especially the Beatles, reading and was an avid Cubs fan. He is survived by his seven siblings, Kay (Bob) Redshaw of Spring Valley, Ann Hartnett of North Dakota, Peggy (Matthew) Wojcik of LaSalle, Mary (Alan) Finckbone of Bloomington, Paul Hartnett of Granville, Thomas (Cindy) Hartnett of LaSalle, and Jennifer (Andy) Ajster of Spring Valley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Stephan Hartnett; and two sister’s in-laws, Mary and Rhonda Hartnett.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Cops for Cancer.
