Obituary for Richard P. Begany Richard P. Begany, a longtime resident of Fishkill, passed away at home on Monday, August 13, 2018. He was 80 years old. Richard was born on September 30, 1937 in Beacon to the late Paul and Josephine Fredericks Begany.

Richard married the former Ruthann Slinskey. They were married for 55 years. Mrs. Begany survives at home.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Richie was the owner of RA Richie Distributors. He was a 50 year member of Lewis Tompkins Hose Company in Beacon, a member of Beacon Elks and a honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, Trinity Council #445.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his son, Dean Begany. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 15 from 2 to 6 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. Members of Lewis Tompkins Hose will meet for services at 4:45 p.m. Members of the Knights of Columbus will hold a service at 5 p.m. Members of the Elks Club will hold services at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Joachim Church, 51 Leonard Street, Beacon.
