Obituary for Richard “Ricky” Calabrese THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE CARING FOR AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF RICHARD CALABRESE OAKVILLE – Richard “Ricky” Gary Calabrese age 64, of Oakville, passed away unexpectedly at Waterbury Hospital on Friday, May 11, 2018. Ricky was born May 26, 1953 in Waterbury, CT the son of the late Alnord “Peanuts” and Mary (Therian) Calabrese. He enjoyed “I Love Lucy”, “Star Trek” and the “Wizard of Oz”.

Ricky was a participant in the Special Olympics and was always happiest while spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known and loved him. Among his survivors are his two guardians, Cynthia Stadalnik of Southbury and Cheryl Tretiak of Oakville.

In additional he also leaves behind several cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother David Calabrese. The family would like to thank and acknowledge the Buckingham Group Home staff for the love and care they provided to Ricky over the years.

Funeral services for Mr. Calabrese will be held Thursday May 17, 2018 at 10:00am at O’Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville, CT. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery Watertown. Family and friends may visit with Ricky’s family on Thursday morning from 9:00am until the time of the service at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Special Olympics Connecticut, 2666 State Street, Suite 1, Hamden, CT 06517.
