Obituary for Richard W. Wallace Richard W. Wallace, 91, of Beloit, WI, passed into eternal life Friday, September 14, 2018 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 21, 1927 in Beloit, WI, the son of Harold and Maybelle (Peglow) Wallace. In his senior year at Beloit High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and upon graduation trained at Great Lakes and served during WWII.

Richard attended Rockford Business College. He married the girl “on the street where he lived,” Mary Williams on November 15, 1958 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Beloit, WI. After a short time at Fairbanks Morse and Beloit Animal Hospital, Richard spent 35 years with the Beloit Post Office where he touched the lives of many.

Following his retirement as a letter carrier, he managed the Postal Credit Union for several more years. He was a former member of Atonement Lutheran Church and became a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on Thursday, September 13, 2018. Richard was an avid golfer, and enjoyed bowling and dart ball leagues.

He was a kind man with a gentle soul and always saw the good in people. Richard was very proud of his three sons. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Wallace; three sons, Matthew (Mary) Wallace and grandchildren, Lubov and Patrick; Daniel (Carol) Wallace, and grandchildren, Corrie and Taylor; Carl (Jane) Wallace and grandchildren, Francheska and Abigail; half sister, Doris Kennedy.

He was predeceased by his parents and grandchild, Kelly Wallace. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Gold, Paige and Anderia of Beloit Regional Hospice, and the Day and Matysiak families. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 in the Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Rd.

, Beloit, WI, with Fr. Michael Resop officiating. Burial will be in Mt.

Thabor Cemetery. Visitation of remembrance will be from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Friday in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd.

, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be given in his name to the OLA School Tuition Program, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, or Beloit Regional Hospice. Upcoming Events Visitation , SEP 21.
