ROBBIE DEAN KELLEY, age 44, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 3:40 p.m. at Mount Carmel West in Columbus, Ohio after a brief illness. Robbie is survived by his wife, Sarah Hill Kelley; daughter, Emma Hill; his mother, Frances Yoakum Cope of Washington CH; his father, Randy Kelley and his fiancé, Linda Ramsey of Chillicothe; mother-in-law, Peggy Hill of Bloomingburg; brother and sister-in-law, Ryan and Patricia Kelley; nephew, Wyatt Kelley of Syracuse, New York; niece and nephew, Aubreigh and Ethan Hill of Olympia, Washington; and his grandparents, Bob and Joleen Kelley of Jeffersonville. Robbie was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Arnold Hill; and grandparents, Bob and Sara Yoakum.

Robbie was born on December 20, 1973 in Fayette County to Randy Kelley and Frances Cope. He made the front page of the Record Herald’s Christmas edition that year as the city’s Christmas baby. He was a 1992 graduate of Washington Senior High School and a 1998 graduate of Wilmington College, where he double majored in English and Theater.

Robbie met his future wife Sarah as an undergrad at Wilmington College. The two were inseparable from that time on and would eventually marry on August 4, 2012. After college, Robbie spent several years as a writer for the Record Herald.

He was an avid writer and leaves behind numerous screenplays written over several years. Robbie had a passion for writing, and few special occasions passed without being memorialized in one of his deeply felt poems. His two great literary heroes were William Shakespeare and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Charming and affable, Robbie possessed a keen intellect and a rapier wit. Few friends left his presence without sharing a laugh or enjoying a heartfelt discussion about life. Robbie had a knack for bringing people together, and his friends and family will long remember his skills as matchmaker, party host, and fantasy football commissioner.

More than this, those who knew him will remember his wry smile and carefree nature–a reminder not to take ourselves too seriously. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Stan Fawley officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery.

Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Summers Funeral Home to help cover funeral expenses. Online condolences may be sent to www.
