JERRY DOUGLAS FUNK, age 64, of Washington CH, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 12:22 p.m. at his home. He was born on December 14, 1953 in Fayette County to Robert and Opal McIntire Funk. He was a 1972 graduate of Miami Trace High School.

Jerry had worked as the Superintendant of the New Holland Cemetery for many years and also worked as a seasonal employee at Washington Cemetery. He enjoyed fishing, watching old westerns, working on cars, and being with his family and grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Teresa Ann Funk, whom he married on December 30, 1976; and siblings, Gloria Jean Manbevers, and Rudy Eugene Funk.

Survivors include his children, Shon Nichols, Terri Nichols, and Melissa Funk; grandchildren, Samual Nichols, Tanner Green, Zana Ruth, Jeremy Wright, Abigail Wright, CJ Flowers, Haley Tanyhill, and Shonna Geddes; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Allison, and Dayvon; and siblings, Joyce Minnix, and Sharon Funk. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. In keeping with Jerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Summers Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent to www.
