STEVEN JAY “STEVE” ANKROM, age 59, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at his home. He was born on August 30, 1959 in Fayette County to the late David Junior “Frosty” and Wilma Jean McCoy Ankrom. He was a 1977 graduate of Washington High School.

Steve was currently employed at Carter Lumber where he worked in sales. He grew up at the First Baptist Church in Washington CH. He enjoyed classic cars, playing cards, attending his grandchildren’s sporting evening, and being with his family.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Brian Alspaugh; grandchildren, Darrian Ragland, Brayden Howard, Kyland Howard, Aerionna Howard, Isaiah Smith, and Ian Wood; great-grandchildren, Stiles Hagler, Caiah Hagler, and Ristyn Ragland; sister, Rita (Bill Batson) Ankrom; nieces, Beth Ann (Matt) Neu, and Amy (Michael) Bunyard; two great nieces; two great nephews; and special friends, Ruth Oiler, Sarah Smith, and Kyler Oiler. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Philip Dartey officiating with burial to follow at the New Holland Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
