ROY CARMON PEPPER, age 66, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 11:07 a.m. at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born on November 20, 1951 in Grayson County, Kentucky to Robert Earl and Emma Jewel Sermon Pepper.

Roy had worked as a laborer for most of his life. He had attended the Jeffersonville United Methodist Church during his childhood years. He enjoyed Ohio State Football, watching old western movies, riding his bike, and being with his family.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Bobby Ray Pepper, David Lee Pepper, Avon Lloyd Pepper, Larry James Pepper, Charles Edward Pepper, Mary Christine Arbogast, and Shelby Jean Pepper. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Charles Burnham of Mt. Sterling; siblings, Billy Joe (Bernice) Pepper of Washington CH, Barbara Baker of Kettering, Beatrice Elaine Howard of Dayton, Imogene Pepper of Dayton, George B. Pepper of Greenfield, and Donald R. Pepper of Chillicothe; and his special friend, Jean Swaney.

Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
