Obituary for Robert Lipe Robert W. Lipe, 73, of Carbondale, passed away at 3:51 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018, at his residence in Carbondale, Illinois. Robert was born on December 29, 1944, in Jackson County, Illinois, to Willard Robert Lipe and Mary Elizabeth (Hooker) Lipe. He had worked as an electronics technician.

He also raised goats. Robert married Dotty Lou Goodman on February 11, 1967, in Jonesboro, and she preceded him in death on January 11, 1996. He then married Ronnie Penrod on October 27, 1999, in Murphysboro, and she survives.

Other survivors include three children Robert Joe (Linda) Lipe of Franklin, TN, Dotty Jane Stewart of Kernserville, NC and Sandra (Jason) Baker of Decatur, IL; two grandchildren; and seven siblings Helen Williams of DeSoto, Joyce Lipe of Carbondale, Glen Lipe of Mulkeytown, Willard Lipe St. Louis, MO, Julia Lipe of Murphysboro, and Kate Behrens of Carbondale; He was preceded in death by one son Thomas Wayne Lipe, two brothers Dan Lipe and Jack Lipe, and his parents. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Waller officiating and burial will be at Dutch Ridge Cemetery.
