Robert L. Mathews, 85, of Middleburg, FL passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019. He was born September 21, 1933 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Richard and Harriette Mathews. Bob served in the Army National Guard for 16 years and was the owner of Bob Mathews Construction for over 20 years.

He was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church of Middleburg. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. He especially loved traveling the world with his wife, Joyce.

Bob will forever be remembered as a kind and generous man who loved to help anyone he could and took much pride in his buildings. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 57 years, Joyce Davis Mathews; children, Patricia Lyons (Scott), Glenda Lyons and Robert Mathews, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, January 24, 2019 in the Jacksonville Memory Gardens Chapel with Pastor Todd Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Haven Hospice at www. beyourhaven.org.
